Christine Heard, director of Heard Communication, has 20 years’ experience in the media working as a journalist, producer, presenter and publicist for both public and private news organisations. Career highlights include foreign correspondent assignments in a post-coup Fiji, a tsunami-ravaged Phuket and a bombed-out Jakarta on the eve of Indonesia’s first democratic elections. She also ran a regional ABC Radio newsroom and reported on federal politics from Parliament House in Canberra. Her TV news stories have been seen on the ABC, SBS and Channel 10, her current affairs stories featured on SBS TV’s Insight program. Her radio news experience includes the ABC, SBS and 2UE. She’s also filed stories for online news and even tweeted from the field. Christine spent four years in SBS’s Marketing department, putting her journalistic skills to good use as Senior Communications Specialist. Here she honed her skills in story-selling as well as storytelling. In 2011 Christine began working as a journalist for Media Skills™ and was so impressed with the methodology and results that she became an accredited trainer. Along with her BA in Journalism and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, Christine is also a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
